Why does Serenity House of Green Bay have board members?

I believe whole heartedly in working the 12 step program.  If this program is worked thoroughly, the sky is the limit for what we can accomplish in sobriety."

Before stepping into this role, I lived at Serenity House for nine months, where I successfully completed all phases of the program and eventually moved out on my own. With the guidance of others, a growing spiritual connection, and commitment to working a 12-step program, recovery has become a way of life for me—one I couldn’t imagine living without. Serenity House played a major role in my journey and has shaped me into the person I am today."

"My sobriety date is 5/31/18.  I started my recovery journey living in a sober living house in Milwaukee after treatment to help build a solid foundation for myself in sobriety. I have a sponsor and am an active sponsor myself and regularly bring in meetings into our local jails and prisons. I serve as District 01 archives chair and Area 74 archivist, sharing my love for AA history.  One of my favorite parts of being involved with the Serenity House in participating in the Tuesday night Big Book Study and share my experience, strength, and hope with the guys.  In my free time I enjoy visiting Akron and as a web master for www.recoveryspeakers.com where I help digitize and preserve 12 step speaker tapes."

My sober date is October 11, 2022. After a very long battle with addiction, I finally found a way to a detox facility and inpatient treatment center, where I spent 28 days with peers going through what would be the turning point in my life. I went to the Serenity House, and this is when I really started to truly recover. Finally, a place to call Home. The owners treated me with respect and kindness. The residents I lived with all had the same interests, to get their lives back. A clean, safe environment with the structure we needed to succeed. Today, I have an awesome job, making good money, am in school, and I have made my kids proud. I am looking at buying my first home. I have real friends and true peace in my life today. I have a sponsor, sponsor other men, chair meetings where I spread the message that we do recover. I am so very proud and honored to be on the board and such an amazing organization, best decision I have ever made.

My sobriety date is May 25, 2023. I spent 3 months in rehabilitation and graduated from the Serenity House. I workout, read, attend meetings, help others in the community when possible, while maintaining a relationship with my higher power.

A man of few words so I try and lead by example.

My sobriety date is 1/10/2022. I became a lodger at the Serenity House that same year, an amazing design for sober living. With the help of my sponsor, I completed the 12 steps in recovery. In May of 2023, I was honored to become the Manager of Serenity House. I lived at the Serenity House for 25 months. Today I give what was so freely given to me. I am a sponsor for men, go to meetings, chair meeting, and I am the chairman on a business committee for one of our recovery programs. Today I cannot imagine my life without spirituality.
